Broadway Bound: The Musicals that Never Came to Broadway

2016: Nerds…

1976: The Baker’s Wife…

1965: Pleasures and Palaces…

Those three titles alone can stir the hearts of musical theatre fans who ask, “What could’ve been had these shows debuted on Broadway?”

Broadway Bound: The Musicals That Never Came to Broadway offers a behind the scenes look at the musicals that were supposed to come to Broadway but never did…told by the actors, writers, and directors who were there!

From producers with no money, to actors who wouldn’t go on, to shows that were way ahead of their time, Broadway Bound will introduce New York audiences to the shows that were supposed to find a home on the Great White Way, all sung by an all star Broadway cast.

The concert will be co-hosted by author of The Untold Stories of Broadway, Jennifer Ashley Tepper, and host of the podcast, Behind The Curtain: Broadway’s Living Legends, Robert W. Schneider.

A New One-Woman Entertainment “Songbird”

Shelly Burch, who lit up the Broadway theatre scene with her dazzling portrayal of Claudia in Tommy Tune’s original production of “Nine”, and then went on to be the devilish Delila on ABCTV’s “One Life To Live” for 8 years, returns to the Metropolitan Room on December 1st and December 12th, with her stunning new One-Woman cabaret show, singing a bevy of brand new musical numbers, and a slew of standards. Written and Directed by Martin Charnin, and accompanied by The David Shenton Trio, Shelly reminds us again, as to why Frank Rich of the New York Times dubbed her “….a Modigliani goddess with a strong voice and an almost otherworldly presence.” BE THERE!
