Shelly Burch performs “treasures” from the never produced Suddenly the Sunrise. Music by Harold Arlen and Lyrics Martin Charnin.
A musical tribute to the Beatles, Burt Bacharach and Irving Berlin, written, directed and narrated by Martin Charnin.
“The 3 B’s” originally referred to the collective genius of Beethoven, Brahms and Bach, three of the most influential and prolific composers of their time. Now nearly 200 years later, the title has been resurrected for this special production to laud the collective genius of three of the most influential and prolific composers of our times, the Beatles, Burt Bacharach, and Irving Berlin!
Legends before the age of 30, “The 3 B’s” have much in common, responsible for writing hundreds of songs that consistently topped the charts, garnered critical acclaim and influenced generations of musicians to come. Collectively they are responsible for creating three of the most important catalogs of the songbook of the past century.

Description: SHELLY BURCH, accompanied by the David Shenton Trio, returns to The Metropolitan Room in this brand new entertainment, INCURABLY ROMANTIC, (produced and directed by her husband, Martin Charnin, the creator, lyricist, and director of, among other shows, the 15th longest running American musical in Broadway history, Annie). Shelly, who created the role of Claudia in Tommy Tune’s original company of Nine, garnered notices that included the New York Times hailing her as a “Modigliani goddess with a strong voice and an almost unearthly presence”, and an 8 year stint as the devilish Delila on ABC-TV’s One LIfe To Life. She celebrates her return to The Metropolitan Room delivering a spectacular array of the best-loved songs in the American Song Book, along with some sweet surprises. In her last appearance, reviewed by Sandy Durell in Cabaret Scene magazine, Durell wrote: “Gracious, Giving, Tall, Thin, Gorgeous, with a wide range filled with emotional honesty. A marvelous show…DON’T MISS IT!!”
